HATCHET JOB READING SERIES @ Public Assembly in Brooklyn: Tuesday, June 5th, 7pm

Hello rosebuds,

June’s gloom has big plans for us and I have plans tonight to read poetry for the Hatchet Job reading series with my best girl, Anna North, & Guy Pettit and Rachel Glaser. Ben Fama is hosting. It’s happening tonight at Public Assembly @ 7pm. Poetry, prose & the weird shit in between.

Public Assembly is on 70 N. 6 street between Wythe and Kent. The reading will be held in the Back Room. There’s also a Front Room and once I went there by mistake and heard a guy making really cheesy jokes about YEAST. To get to the Back Room, walk towards the right when you walk down the entrance to the venue. Here are the FB deets: http://www.facebook.com/events/428768387140786/

BALLS OUT COMEDY @ The Bowery Poetry Club: Thursday, May 24, 8pm

My dear sea urchins and starfish,

This Thursday, I will be performing a story about my grandmother’s breasts as part of BALLS OUT COMEDY, a monthly comedy-variety show held at the Bowery Poetry Club. I’m hella nervous and hope it ain’t gonna be crickets and pity-laughs. The line-up is ill. The Bowery Poetry Club is ill. There’s no question as to MY illness, ’specially since I’ve got the febrile dreams of a nervous wreck. $12 cover. Come by if you wanna see me get big or fart tryin’.

East coast tour with Fjords

Have you heard? Zachary Schomburg is breaking everyone’s hearts and sheltering our knock-kneed frailty from the unpredictable and the impossible with his third book of poems, Fjords. And he’s bringing shadow puppets and violinists with him. And me! My hands do not create stirring shadows or music that follows you in dreams, but they will be there when I join Zach and Manual Cinema on a mini East Coast tour next week. If you live in Philly, Baltimore, DC, Richmond, or Raleigh, I would love to see you. And if you don’t live in any of these cities, or don’t want to see me, but do want to see and hear poems and moving images that will move you like they move themselves, please check out the rest of the tour to see when they are coming to your town.

Chicago + AWP

Hello morning glories. Octopus Books, Black Ocean, and Letter Machine are hosting a night of poetry, music, grinding burps, and art on Friday, March 2nd during the AWP conference in Chicago. I will be reading from Dear Jenny, We Are Find, but the real beauty will happen when Christopher DeWeese, Peter Gizzi, Thurston Moore, Andrea Rexilius, and Zachary Schomburg take the stage (not all at once.) It starts at 9pm at The Hideout. It ends when you want your night to end.
